Athena - Sucks? NO!

Hi guys, iosmk here. Firstly, i apologized that nowadays, we don't really do card reviews, it is due to our school work. Sec 3 is filled with homeworks and i have to pay attention in class more since i'm in the best class now. The pace is unbelievably fast. And for aura, he has to do his councillor thingy which makes him pretty busy too. Okay, since aura is unable to post a monster review, I will be taking his place instead for today.


Athena アテナ => Effect Monster Card
Each time a Fairy-Type monster is Summoned, inflict 600 damage to your opponent. Once per turn, you can send 1 Fairy-Type monster you control, except "Athena", to the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 Fairy-Type monster from your graveyard, except "Athena".

So, what's the good thing about this card? Let's go straight to the point. Whenever a fairy type monster is summoned, you can burn 600 LP to your opponent. This card will make our new archtype of fairies become much stronger, since I have found an easy OTK using this card.

The OTK
Cards needed = 1 agent earth, 1 athena and 1 valhalla in hand or 1 agent venus, 1 athena and 1 valhalla in hand and 1 agent earth in the graveyard

How to do it?
1. Summon earth, take venus to your hand. End turn.
2. Wait your opponent and hopes that he/she kills your earth.
3. Activate Valhalla.
4. Special summon Athena from your hand.
5. Normal summon Venus and don't use priority. Athena's effect burns 600.
6. Use venus' effect, pay 500 to sp summon 1st ball. Athena's effect burns 600.
7. Use venus' effect, pay 500 to sp summon 2nd ball. Athena's effect burns 600.
8. Use venus' effect, pay 500 to sp summon 3rd ball. Athena's effect burns 600.
9. Use Athena's effect, send 1 ball to the graveyard and special summon agent earth. Athena's
effect burns 600.
10. Synchro earth, venus and 2 ball to mist wurm or trishula, makes your opponent field empty.
11. Attack directly with Athena and Mist wurm for game.
Calculation = (600 x 5)(burn damage) + 2600(Athena) + 2500-2700(mist wurm or trishula)
= 8100 - 8300.

So, isn't it simple? You just need to use 3 cards and your opponent is dead. Another thing, Athena is a very good monster as we can do lots of things. For example, you have Athena on your side of the field, and you can't kill your opponent's monster. You can just summon something, send it and sp summon an honest, and take the honest back to your hand and then kill your opponent. Nice? Yeah obviously. In TCG area, i've asked people about Athena and they said it sucks. They say they don't mind selling it at 2 or 3 SGD. And so, i bought some and use them.

Hopefully, this card won't be so cheap now, and it will get a good price since its effect is pretty good. Well, i don't want to spoil the market though, just because there are lots of things that you can do with this cards and then people will just increase the price till its not affordable.
